Wales’ premier big band, the Capital City Jazz Orchestra, is proud to announce a milestone concert celebrating 20 years of performing together. To mark two decades of bringing vibrant big band music to audiences, the orchestra will be joined by acclaimed guest vocalist and trumpeter Georgina Jackson for an unforgettable anniversary performance.
Known for her dynamic stage presence and exceptional versatility, Georgina Jackson has performed with prestigious ensembles such as the BBC Big Band and the BBC Concert Orchestra, and has graced the stage at the BBC Proms. Her talent has taken her across the globe as an international cabaret artiste on the world’s most renowned cruise lines, as well as performing with the Echoes of Ellington Big Band.
Jackson's showstopping talent famously caught the attention of the late entertainment legend Sir Bruce Forsyth during a performance at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, where he declared: “That was amazing… The real deal… I never thought I’d fall in love with a girl from Wigan, but I did tonight!”
This 20th-anniversary event promises a captivating evening of classic and contemporary big band music, combining the high-energy sound of Wales’ leading big band with Jackson's acclaimed vocal and trumpet showmanship.
